Root Canal Treatment

Advanced technology and modern anesthesia make root canal procedures more comfortable and efficient than ever. A tooth canal removes infection, relieves pain, and preserves your natural tooth for long-term oral health.

Root Canal Treatment in Tulsa, OK

The hard enamel layer of a tooth protects its inner pulp from bacteria and infection. When deep decay, cracks, or trauma expose the pulp, an infection can develop and cause pain and sensitivity. A root canal operation removes the infected tissue, cleans the inner tooth, and seals it to prevent further damage. This treatment saves the natural tooth and helps maintain your overall dental health.

Delaying treatment for an infected tooth canal can lead to severe pain, abscesses, or tooth loss. A root canal restores function while eliminating discomfort. After your procedure, you will be able to chew and speak normally again. With proper care, a treated tooth can last a lifetime, which makes root canal operations a safe and effective solution for preserving your smile.

  • What are the signs I might need a root canal?

Certain symptoms indicate that a tooth canal treatment may be necessary to remove the infection and save the tooth. Common signs include:

    • Persistent tooth pain, especially when chewing or applying pressure.
    • Sensitivity to hot or cold temperatures that lingers after removal of the stimulus.
    • Swelling, tenderness, or a pimple-like bump on the gums near the affected tooth.
  • How is a root canal performed?

A root canal operation begins with numbing the area around the tooth to ensure your comfort. The dentist then removes the infected pulp, cleans the canals, and fills the space with a biocompatible material. Finally, a protective crown may be placed to restore strength and function.

  • Are there alternatives to root canal treatment?

A root canal is the best option for saving a severely infected tooth. In some cases, extraction followed by a dental implant or bridge may be considered, but preserving the natural tooth is typically the preferred solution.
