  • What should I do if my tooth is loose?

Avoid touching or wiggling the tooth, and call an emergency dentist immediately. Keeping the tooth stable increases the chances of saving it. Try to avoid chewing on that side of your mouth until your appointment.

  • Is a dental abscess an emergency?

Yes, an abscess is a serious infection that requires immediate attention. If you experience swelling, severe pain, or fever, contact an emergency dentist in Tulsa right away to prevent the infection from spreading.

  • What’s the best way to handle a dental emergency?

Here’s what you can do in a dental emergency:

    • Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling.
    • Rinse with warm salt water to clean the area.
    • If a tooth is knocked out, place it in a glass of milk until you can see your dentist.
    • Take over-the-counter pain medication for relief.
    • Floss gently to remove food causing discomfort.

If your condition is severe, visit an emergency room immediately or contact our urgent care dentist for professional assistance.

  • What should I do if I have a toothache?

Toothaches can signal a serious issue, so call your dentist as soon as possible. While waiting for your appointment, rinse your mouth with warm water, floss to remove trapped debris, and take pain relievers as needed. A cold compress can also help reduce swelling and discomfort.

  • What should I do if my dental filling or crown breaks?

If a filling or crown breaks, save any pieces and avoid chewing on that side of your mouth. You can temporarily secure a loose crown with dental cement, available at most pharmacies. However, seeing your dentist promptly is crucial to prevent further damage or infection.
